Volvo Trucks states half-way results for the BioDME project exceed expectations
Volvo Trucks, project coordinators for the BioDME project for which Chemrec has built and operates the fuel production plant, issued a press release with a very positive assessments of results achieved. Also the haulers participating in the truck field test gave very a positive review.

Michigan Pulp Mill receives $300,000 for Chemrec technology study
The U.S. Department of Energy has announced an award of $300,000 to help NewPage Corporation conduct a $1.2 million feasibility study for incorporating a black liquor-based biorefinery into their pulp and paper mill in Escanaba, Michigan. New Page’s project would use the gasification technology developed by Chemrec.

Silver medal to Chemrec
Chemrec took second place in the Royal Green Award in New York. "We feel very honored," says Chemrec's President, Jonas Rudberg. The Award is given to an innovative and groundbreaking Swedish business focused on viable energy alternatives and energy conservation and efficiency. Chemrec was nominated as finalist together with Ageratec, Opcon ad Swedish Biofuels that was chosen as winner. The ceremony was attended by H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.

Budget presentation in Piteå
Swedish minister of Enterprise and Energy presented the budget at Chemrec's plant in Piteå.
"I strongly believe we will be producing fuel from wood in the future", she said and showed that the goverment had reserved money for this purpose in the budget.
