His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf broke ground on September 18 when Chemrec launched the construction of the world’s first plant for the production of the renewable automotive fuel called BioDME in Piteå. The fuel will be produced from Swedish forestry biomass. The project is being run in cooperation with, among others, Volvo and Preem.
Kung Carl XVI Gustaf tog den 18 september första spadtaget när Chemrec påbörjade bygget av världens första anläggning för framställning av det förnyelsebara motorbränslet BioDME i Piteå. Bänslet framställs ur svensk skogsråvara. Projektet drivs tillsammans med bl a Volvo och Preem.

When His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf inaugurated the site for the construction of Chemrec’s production plant for the forestry biomass-based automotive fuel BioDME in Piteå, the whole chain was demonstrated, from wood to wheel. Here the King is studying Volvo’s DME truck which will be tested in a field test involving fourteen vehicles in 2010 and 2011.
I samband med att kung Carl XVI Gustaf invigde bygget av Chemrecs anläggning för framställning av det skogsråvarubaserade motorbränslet BioDME i Piteå visades hela kedjan från Wood to Wheel upp. Här studerar Kungen Volvos DME-lastbil som kommer att testas i ett fältprov med 14 bilar under 2010 och 2011.
